We don’t like to over complicate things. Just let us know what you need via email, our Quote Request Form, or call us. Once everything is understood and agreed, send us your recordings, notes or document; we transcribe, type or proofread, and you receive exactly what you ordered.  Simple!

Communication

 We like to build great relationships with our clients, so we make sure we understand exactly what is required before we begin all our transcription, copy typing or proofreading assignments. We keep in touch throughout the project so you always know that progress is being made.

Reliability

Once we know your requirements and have received your audio file or document, we check the quality of the original source and confirm all the details. You will then receive your completed transcript, manuscript, thesis or other document, within the specified timeframe.

Confidentiality

We understand the importance of keeping your work private and secure. Our Privacy Policy provides information and reassurance that we adhere to strict confidentiality practices. Our File Transfer and Storage facility uses 128-bit AES encryption, and only you and select Business Friend team members can access your personal folder.

Our Transcription Process

To get an idea of the cost your transcription project, you can use Business Friend’s Transcription Quote Calculator. To receive a personalised quote based on your exact requirements, then please either call or email us, or complete the Quote Request form.  Factors such as the number of speakers, the quality of recording, the deadline, if time stamping is required, or if a fully verbatim transcript is needed, will all be discussed to make sure we fully understand your transcription requirements.

Upon receiving acceptance of your personalised quote, we will send you a password to use our secure file transfer service.  Of course, we are happy to receive recordings in other ways if you prefer.  For example, Dropbox or another secure file transfer service, such as WeTransfer.

Once we receive your recording, we start transcribing your file!  Once complete, the transcript is returned to you in Microsoft Word (password protected if required) via email, Dropbox or secure file transfer, whichever you prefer.

After we have returned your transcript, we will send an invoice, including the purchase order number you have provided if required.  Payment can be made by BACs or by PayPal (a PayPal account is not required as payment can be made by debit or credit card as well)

A) Record Your Audio File

Top tips: Record in a quiet environment if you can – the better the recording, the better the transcript! With focus groups, ask participants to introduce themselves at the beginning as this helps with the identification of speakers.

B) Send Us Your Recording

Via Business Friend’s secure transfer and storage facility after we create your encrypted, password protected folder. Although we can of course use your own service if preferred, for example WeTransfer.

C) Receive Your Transcript

Business Friend transcribes your recording into a Word document, and returns the completed transcript to you within your desired timeframe!

Our Proofreading Process

To get an idea of the cost of your proofreading project, you can use Business Friend’s Proofreading Quote Calculator. To receive a personalised quote based on your exact requirements, then please either call or email us, or complete the Quote Request form. Factors such as whether your document should be in UK (British) or US (American) English, the timeframe, the approximate number of words and whether you require a cross-reference check, will all be discussed to make sure we fully understand your proofreading requirements.

Upon receiving acceptance of your personalised quote, we will send you a password to use our secure file transfer service if required. Of course, we are happy to receive your document in other ways if preferred. For example, email, post, Dropbox or another secure file transfer service, such as WeTransfer.

On receipt of your document, your professional proofreader will be in touch for one final check that all your requirements have been correctly understood. Once your document is fully proofread, it will be returned to you in Microsoft Word within the specified timeframe. You will also receive a second version, with all the changes highlighted so you can see exactly what has been changed during the proofreading process.

 

After we have returned your proofread document, we will send an invoice, including the purchase order number you have provided if required. Payment can be made by BACs or by PayPal (a PayPal account is not required as payment can be made by debit or credit card as well).

Our Proofreading Service is simple… but effective!

A) Tell Us What You Want

We put you in touch with a member of our proofreading team so you can let us know your requirements. For example, which tense(s) you are using and whether you would like us to carry out cross-reference checks. And, of course, the deadline!

B) Send Us Your Document

You can send us your thesis, article, essay, dissertation or any other document, via email, Dropbox or our secure file transfer facility. Your allocated proofreader will be in touch to confirm your requirements and to keep you updated on progress.

C) Receive Your Document

You receive your professionally proofread document within your desired timeframe! You will also receive a version with all the changes highlighted, so you can see exactly what has been changed to create your finished product.

Our Copy Typing Process

To get an idea of the cost your copy typing project, you can use Business Friend’s Copy Typing Quote Calculator. To receive a personalised quote based on your exact requirements, then please either call or email us, or complete the Quote Request form. Factors such as if the original source is handwritten or typed, if you require diagrams or tables, if you have a particular template you would like used and, of course, the deadline, will all be discussed to make sure we fully understand your copy typing requirements.

Upon receiving acceptance of your personalised quote, we will send you a password to use our secure file transfer service if required. Of course, we are happy to receive your notes for typing in other ways if preferred. For example, email, Dropbox or another secure file transfer service, such as WeTransfer. For large documents, you may wish to use Royal Mail Special Delivery, or a courier service.

On receipt, we start typing! Once your document is complete, it is returned to you in Microsoft Word, within the specified timeframe.

After we have returned your typed document, we will send an invoice, including the purchase order number you have provided if required. Payment can be made by BACs or by PayPal (a PayPal account is not required as payment can be made by debit or credit card as well).

A) Send Us The Original Source

You can send us your report, memoir, essay, script or any other document, via email, Dropbox or our secure file transfer facility. Our experienced team can produce a professional document from handwritten or typed notes, so either source is fine!

B) We Start Typing

Business Friend’s team is proficient in Word so we can ensure your formatting requirements are met. For example, if you have an in-house template to be adhered to, or need some tables created, we’re more than happy to help. 

C) Receive Your Document

You receive your professionally typed document within your desired timeframe. If your project required diagrams or graphics, we will supply these separately, as well as embedded in your document, for easy future editing if required.
